How to load your storage unit
Tips and hints
Distribute the weight evenly through the unit, not all to one side.
Place heavier items on the bottom with lighter items on top. Very heavy items should be on the floor and near the front, being centrally placed.
Pack the unit as tight as possible to avoid movement. Try not to leave open spaces where items could fall or move.
Protect the furniture with the wrappers provided and any other packaging you have to prevent damage. It is your responsibility to make sure that everything is wrapped and packed to prevent damage.
When packing boxes make sure that breakables are well wrapped with paper and bubblewrap. Pack boxes as full as possible so that the top is level to help protect the contents.
You can leave non breakable items in drawers to save space.
For health and safety, make sure you are aware of manual handling techniques and use gloves and protective footwear when handling boxes and furniture.
Secure your storage unit with a padlock.
Make an inventory of the items in each unit on the list provided, and/or draw a rough plan of their position for quick access if required.
